The Shell attaches to the rear of the sounder/sonar with stainless equipment and remains there as part of the unit. Installation involves running cables through gromets on the rear of shell and use of a ball mount to allow flexible positioning. The Story

Based in Sydney, Australia we took part on a journey to end salty sounders and tedious clean ups after long days on the water and launched in 2026.
When I started fishing from a kayak I quickly wanted a sounder so I could catch fish with ease. Quickly learning that it wasn’t the that easy, I spent days learning about how to read the sonar and integrate it into my fishing process however nature started to take it’s toll and corroded cables left me in the water troubleshooting parts and then having extended wait times for new parts to arrive.
After a few years with a basic sonar I upgraded to a more robust unit and thought my troubles would be over. With screw in cables I thought it was a thing of the past, but salt water is an unstoppable corrosive force.
Sounder failures, annoying careful cleaning, days wasted waiting for special cables and the inevitable rewiring job inspired the creation of the SonarCovers.com, creating covers that keep your gear in order without compromise.
